Little Big Adventures Ireland was founded in 2016 by qualified Mountain Leader John O’Brien to share the beauty and challenge of Ireland’s mountains with people of all abilities. As certified Mountaineering Ireland training providers and Training Board members, we deliver professional mountain skills courses and guided walks across the southeast’s most spectacular peaks.
John brings international expedition experience from Europe, the Andes, and the Himalayas to every course. As part of the board that sets Ireland’s mountaineering qualification standards, he ensures our training meets the highest professional benchmarks. We keep groups small, prioritize individual attention, and focus on building genuine confidence rather than just ticking boxes. Whether it’s your first summit or you’re preparing for expeditions abroad, we’ll help you develop the skills and judgment that make mountain adventures safe and rewarding.
